Fair Trade Information |
Imagine a gift or product that brings new hope for a whole community or even a country! Well “Fair Trade” products can do just that. “Fair Trade” means just like it sounds. It means that a person, village or artisan is being paid a “fair wage” for his skills. Most of the time “Fair Trade” is done in a third world country giving a village or group of people a special opportunity to earn a living making their traditional crafts. The wage should be a “living wage” not just a “working wage”. This way the community can build a school, receive much needed medical attention, and send their children to college. Through “Fair Trade” an artisan or farmer will not be forced into a factory for meager pay if working in a “Fair Trade” situation. “Fair Trade” gives hope for future generations.
